What is CSV bulk import?
CSV bulk import allows you to add many employees to an organization at once instead of entering each employee manually.
This is helpful when onboarding a new organization or updating a large employee list.
Required employee fields
Each employee must include:
First Name
Last Name
Email Address
These fields are required so Vyvern can correctly identify and validate employees before workflows are generated.
Supported CSV columns
Vyvern supports flexible CSV formatting.
Your CSV may include:
First Name
Last Name
Full Name
Email / Work Email
Job Title / Title / Position
Department / Team / Group
Column order does not matter.
Automatic column mapping
Vyvern automatically maps common column names and header synonyms.
For example:
Work Email can be mapped as Email
Job Title can be mapped as Title or Position
Group can be mapped as Department or Team
This allows you to upload employee exports from different HR or directory systems without manually reformatting every column.
Full name handling
If your CSV includes a single Full Name column, Vyvern can automatically split it into first and last names.
For example:
Full Name Email
Jane Smith jane@company.com
Will be mapped as:
First Name: Jane
Last Name: Smith
Email: jane@company.com
Department and team matching
If your CSV includes a Department, Team, or Group column, Vyvern will attempt to match those values to existing teams.
If new team names are detected, they can be created during the import confirmation process.
This helps organize employees into teams while importing them.
Before confirming import
Before completing the import, review:
Employee names
Email addresses
Column mappings
Department or team assignments
Any newly detected teams
Once everything looks correct, confirm the import.
